  • I came across the above photograph whilst searching for information on the LENG family of Carlton in Cleveland. I think I can provide you with a little more information on the family. I believe Mrs. J. LENG (who received the postcard) was Mrs. Jane LENG (nee RAMSEY) and born at Stokesley in 1841. On 16th Oct 1864 she married Israel LENG at Carlton in Cleveland & they had several children including Annie LENG, born 26th Nov 1878 & baptized 23rd March 1879 at Carlton. In the 1881 and 1891 census’ she was living with her parents in Carlton ... but. I had lost track of her after that. Israel LENG died in January 1893 but Jane lived to be 81, dying in January 1923 at Carlton in Cleveland. Israel LENG was my Great, Great, Great, Great Uncle. This is a fascinating insight into what happened to their daughter Annie.
  • If anyone is able to supply any further information regarding Annie, Ernest & children Percy, John & Willie ... then Andrew Ross & the Pentrich Historical Society would love to hear from you.
