  • Information - This postcard shows a view along ‘Main Road’ at Pentrich - was posted Sept 2nd 1905, it was sent to an an address at Derby and was posted from Ripley.
  • Notice that you can see piles of dust & ashes on the road; ready for collection. Before motor vehicles became common place, a man with a little dust cart would come and remove the ashes with his shovel ... this was of course the fore-runner to the modern dust-bin man and the refuse service as we know it.
