• Information - Many Thanks to Dave Upton who has donated this image of ‘Eastview’ in Pentrich, to the Pentrich Image Archive. Dave informs us that ‘The picture shows the front of the house called ‘Eastview’ and was taken in 1952. His family (the UPTON’s) lived there at the time it had a small cafe called the ‘Wayside Cafe’ in an outbuilding in the garden which catered mainly for cyclists. The house is semi-detached & our neighbours were the CURZONS and across the road was an old cottage where the DAYKINS lived. The two ladies shown are Aunts, who were visiting at the time.’
