Pentrich Revolution

  • ‘The Pentrich Rising of 1817’ by A. J. Bunting
  • Tony Bunting’s university dissertation titled ‘The Pentrich Rising of 1817’ & Tony informs us that his dissertation ‘examines the rebellion from two key perspectives. Firstly, the events of June 1817 are set in the context of the times and popular radical culture of the post-1815 "heroic age". Secondly, the key actors in this tragedy are examined, with specific focus on Oliver the Spy.’
