Online Obituaries & Memorial Tributes

We are now offering a FREE Online Memorial service to village residents, past & present, as an alternative (or in addition) to paying for newspaper obituaries. We are offering people the choice to have their loved ones permenantly remembered on this site. Any submitted tributes will remain on the site indefinitely; giving friends and relatives the opportunity to freely access the memorial tribute for years to come. This service is only offered to people who want to have their family members remembered and we’re happy to include any past residents of the village; the offer is not just limited to those buried in St. Matthew’s churchyard. Wherever possible, we would like to include a photo of the person or their grave or maybe include details from their tombstone inscription or memorial vase or plaque etc... so please supply details of their resting place or memorial if you choose.

What you need to do ... Please supply a copy or transcription of their newspaper obituary or you can write your own memorial tribute for the deceased person; including a breif description of their life, family & hobbies or achievements. We have provided a downloadable document to fill in to make it easier for you. It would also be appreciated if you could include a photo of the deceased person and/or their grave or memorial place.

Photos & details can either be sent by email ... or photocopies can be sent to the Village Hall address. However please do not send us your original valuable documents or photos; as we would not want to be held responsible for their loss - only send duplicate copies!
