Notice regarding PHS diary dates

General meetings & talks (with guest speakers)  .... General meetings & talks are now open to both society members & the general public (non-members) ... if you have any queries prior to the meeting, please feel free to contact us by email. There is an entrance fee (2.00) per person to any of the scheduled ‘Talks’ and this covers the cost of  the hall & guest speaker. If a person attends multiple meetings or talks, they would be expected to pay annual membership (£7.50 per person). Click here for more details on membership

Regarding planned excursions & outings .... Society members will get priority to go on any forth-coming outings or excursions ... but any unused seats will be made available to  non-members who express an interest in joining us (costs or fees will be detailed alongside diary date entry, below). However please enquire about the availability of any spare places & costs, preferably 2 or 3 days in advance of the outing ....

  • Discuss the erection of historical interpretation boards in the village

  •                    (1) ‘ Using computers to aid  family and local history’

  • The ‘Snowdrop Tea’ is an annual village custom at Pentrich, which has been held for many years. If you’re interested in joining us this year, the event details are ... Date - Tuesday 24th Feb 2009 ... Time & Place - 2.30pm at The Village Hall, Main Road, Pentrich.
  • ‘SOUTHWELL WORKHOUSE & MINSTER’
  • We are planning to visit the Southwell Workhouse & Minister ... as well as the Ruddington Framework knitters Museum.. 
  • ‘PENTRICH REMEMBERS COAL MINING’
  • Later in the year we hope to arrange a meeting regarding ‘PENTRICH REMEMBERS  COAL MINING’ ... if you have memories of the local coal industry and you’re willing to share them, please get in touch with us.
