Translation: In Ripley and Pentrich Leofnoth had 2 carucata of land taxable. Land for 2 ploughs. Now in lordship 3 ploughs. 13 villagers and 3 smallholders have 3 ploughs. Meadow, 3 acres; woodland pasture 2 leagues long and 1 wide. Value in King Edwards time (before 1066) £4; now 50 s.
