OLIVER of Bonsall

In the latter end of April, Bacon went to him after his return out of Lancashire or Yorkshire. [A. Booth]

William OLIVER - London Delegate/ later known as Oliver the Spy

In consequence of his arrival in Yorkshire with information that they were not prepared in London for the rising to take place on Whitmonday it was put off & the intelligence communicated to the Pentrich club by a delegate from Leeds. [James Booth]

Benjamin ONION of Butterley: Moulder

Was with the insurgents in their march from Butterley for Codnor & Kimberley on Tuesday morning early & carried a blanket. [Thomas Hardy] [Anthony Elliott]

The keeper of the Prison found a rug upon him. [Thomas Wright]

John ONION & John ONION Jnr. Both of Butterley: Iron Moulders

Were at the 5th meeting at Asherfield Barn. [A. Booth]

One of them was with the mob at Greenwich near Ripley. [M. Hughes] [W. Topham]

John Onion Senior was with the mob in their march for Codnor and Kimberley, carried a blanket over his back & said he would go forward to Nottingham & see it out & bid the mob stick together or they would do no good & appeared upon the whole anxious for the success of the enterprise. Was at the 5th meeting at Sutton’s Asherfield Barn. [A. Booth]

Was at Butterley Park, Codnor &c. but not armed as Thomas Jennings believes. [Thomas Jennings]
